Wednesday was National Signing Day and Hurley discussed the commitments of Junior County and Colben Landrew.

At No. 3 in the nation, the University of Connecticut men's basketball team has real national championship aspirations this season, but that doesn't mean that the Huskies are neglecting the future.

Wednesday was National Signing Day and the Huskies officially secured the commitments of Junior County and Colben Landrew.

Here's what you need to know:

    Who they are

County, a shooting guard, chose UConn over Arizona, Indiana, Maryland and Purdue. He committed in late September. Out of Utah, he's listed at 6'4.

"I think I'll be able to make winning plays on both ends of the floor," he said. "They see me being able to make those winning plays on and off the ball."

    That came from ESPN.

Landrew is listed at 6'6 and is currently playing high school basketball in Georgia, though he's from Alabama. He was ranked as high as No. 17 on the prospects list by Rivals.com.

What head coach Dan Hurley is saying

In a video released by UConn basketball on "X," Hurley said that he expects UConn fans to rally around these recruits, citing their great families and great basketball upbringings. He also said that he thinks both players can contribute early on in their careers.
