As UConn enters its eighth week of the 2024-25 season, not much has changed since the Nov. 4 opener against No. 20 Louisville, a 79-66 win in Annapolis, Md.

They are still the defending national champions.

They remain undefeated at 12-0.

They are No. 1 in the nation. Still.

And their stars are turning in notable performances week in and week out.

On Monday, Sarah Strong was named the Big East Player of the Week, with Blanca Quinonez selected the conference Freshman of the Week.

In wins over Marquette and No 11 Iowa last week, Strong averaged 22.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 4.0 steals per game with a 63.3 field goal percentage and 46.2 three-point percentage.

Quinonez earned her fourth Freshman of the Week honors on the strength of averages of 11.0 points and 4.0 rebounds in the two games. She shot 60% from the field and 50% from three.

UConn swept the weekly awards for the fourth time on the season.
