UConn's Evan Menzel likely won't forget the day he hit an inside-the-park home run to complete the cycle as the Huskies defeated New Haven 9-4 on Wednesday at Elliot Ballpark in Storrs, Conn.

Menzel was 4-of-5 batting on the day: a double in the first inning, single in the third, triple in the seventh and the homer in the eighth.

It was the first cycle by a UConn player since Brian Esposito accomplished the feat on April 15, 1999, against Holy Cross.

This was the earliest date on the calendar that UConn has played a home game. The Huskies are 5-7; New Haven fell to 0-7.
