UConn WBB comment on passing of long-time beat reporter

One of the longest-tenured sports writers on the UConn Huskies women's basketball beat, Carl Adamec, was announced dead Tuesday at the age of 68.

For more than four decades, Adamec covered the Huskies women's basketball program and became one of the most prominent media voices on the beat.

The women's basketball team shared an official statement on the late sportswriter on Tuesday on its official social media accounts.

"Our program is deeply saddened by the loss of Carl Adamec.
Carl covered the Huskies for more than 40 years and was an expert on everything UConn women’s basketball. We’re grateful for his years of reporting and will miss having him around."
