
Washington junior guard Sayvia Sellers became the first Huskies basketball player on the men's or women's team to earn a weekly conference honor this season.
Sellers was named the Big Ten Women's Basketball Player of the Week on Monday after a 2-0 week for Washington in which Sellers put up 19 points and five assists against Montana on Nov. 10 and 30 points, two steals and two blocks against Utah on Nov. 15.
Sellers added a second weekly honor to her resume on Tuesday.
Sellers was named the National Player of the Week by the U.S. Basketball Writers Association.
Entering Tuesday, Sellers has averaged 23.3 points per game for the 3-0 Huskies, which is tied for eighth-most in the country. She's shot the ball at a 59.2% clip from the floor and has dished 3.7 assists per game. She's also averaging two steals and a block a game.
Sellers and Washington, which is ranked No. 25 in the country, will next play against Fresno State at 6 p.m. PT on Nov. 19 at Alaska Airlines Arena in Seattle.
