The San Francisco 49ers continue to fine-tune their roster in the trenches, bringing in veteran offensive lineman Robert Jones in a move that could quietly pay major dividends heading into the 2026 season.

It may not be the flashiest signing of the offseason, but it’s one that directly addresses a lingering concern along the interior offensive line.

With an opening at left guard, Jones steps in as an immediate contender to take over the role.

At 27, Jones arrives in Santa Clara with meaningful experience under his belt. Over four seasons with the Miami Dolphins, he appeared in 49 games and made 30 starts, including a full 17-game slate in 2024.

His steady presence and physical style of play helped him carve out a consistent role, particularly in the run game and pass protection.
