As the new NFL league year approaches on March 11, one familiar face from the Bay Area could be headed north.

According to a recent ESPN projection by NFL writer Aaron Schatz, the Seattle Seahawks are viewed as a logical landing spot for Jauan Jennings when free agency opens.

Jennings, who has spent all five of his NFL seasons with the San Francisco 49ers, is coming off the best year of his career at just the right time.

In a season where injuries decimated San Francisco’s receiving corps, the 28-year-old emerged as the team’s most dependable wideout.

With Brandon Aiyuk and Ricky Pearsall combining to play just nine games, Jennings stepped into a featured role and delivered a career-high nine touchdowns.

Schatz noted that signing Jennings would accomplish multiple goals for Seattle.

He could replace Rashid Shaheed if he departs in free agency, while also fitting seamlessly into the Seahawks’ run-first philosophy thanks to his physical blocking ability on the perimeter.
