The San Francisco 49ers made the playoffs on the strength of a strong regular season in 2025. And while some are hesitant to give their backup quarterback his due credit, Mac Jones was a huge reason the team had the season it had.

Jones entered in relief of backup quarterback Brock Purdy and played starter caliber football for much of the year. With a lesser backup, the Niners might not have made the playoffs.

Jones' contribution was invaluable, which makes quantifying his trade value so difficult. It begs the question: with all the potential trades being discussed, how tough would it be to part with Jones? Would you trade the quarterback or retain Jones for another season?
