The new Davis Webb-led offense flopped. Offseason acquisition Jaylen Waddle was nowhere to be found. And, the highly-touted Denver defense was gashed by Chiefs running back Kenneth Walker III, who made his KC debut after being named the Super Bowl MVP in February with the Seattle Seahawks. For three quarters on Sunday in Week 2, it looked like Denver was going to fall to 0-2. The Broncos scored just six points in the first three quarters, which came on a pair of Will Lutz field goals. In the end, the Broncos scored 14 fourth-quarter points to squeak out a 20-13 win in Denver against the Jacksonville Jaguars. JAYLEN WADDLE IS STILL A WR1 In Week 1, Waddle had just 1 catch for 2 yards on 3 targets. It was a massive surprise, and Bo Nix just couldn't find Waddle at all against Kansas City. This time, Waddle was targeted 10 times, and he had 8 catches for 138 yards, although he didn't score a touchdown. Waddle did have a 49-yard reception, which came in the second quarter, and he was yards away from scoring a touchdown. The next highest-targeted WR for Denver was Courtland Sutton (4 targets). JOAN COLEMAN COULD BE THE RB1 J.K. Dobbins can still produce, and the veteran had 10 carries for 36 yards in Week 2. However, rookie running back Jonah Coleman showed his worth. He had 10 carries for 39 yards, and he scored a touchdown with under 8 minutes left which proved to be the game-winner. The fact that Webb and Sean Payton felt comfortable giving Coleman the ball late shows how highly they view him, and this could be the start of a change at the RB position. THE BRONCOS' DEFENSE IS BACK, FOR NOW The Broncos defense was ripped apart in Week 1. This time, it held firm against Trevor Lawrence and the Jaguars. Lawrence had four touchdown passes in the Jaguars' Week 1 win over the Cleveland Browns, and they scored 34 points at home to begin the season. This time, Lawrence didn't have a touchdown pass, and he finished with a 17-of-29 clip for 189 yards with an interception. In the end, the Broncos are 1-1, although the offense hasn't played as well as anyone thought so far. In Week 3, Denver has another massive test against the Los Angeles Rams in Denver on Sunday Night Football.
