New Tampa Bay Buccaneers’ quarterbacks coach Chandler Whitmer coached against new Buc Rueben Bain Jr. not too long ago.

Whitmer, who had been the quarterbacks coach and co-offensive coordinator at Indiana, coached against Miami’s Bain during the national championship game.

Indiana had a hard time figuring out Bain and fellow defensive end Akheem Mesidor, who went to the Los Angeles Chargers with pick No. 22.

“I remember saying on the microphone, “Guys, we can’t block these guys,’” Whitmer told reporters Tuesday.
