The Tampa Bay Buccaneers interviewed Indiana co-offensive coordinator Chandler Whitmer for their quarterbacks coach position, NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe reported Friday.

Whitmer coached the quarterbacks and assisted offensive coordinator Mike Shanahan, helping turn Indiana quarterback Fernando Mendoza into the school’s first Heisman Trophy winner and leading the Hoosiers to a 16-0 record and the school’s first national championship.

Whitmer has four years of NFL coaching experience, having spent three seasons (2021-2023) with the Los Angeles Chargers as an offensive quality control coach and spent 2024 as the pass game specialist for the Atlanta Falcons.

Whitmer was also a graduate assistant at Ohio State (2019) and Clemson (2020).
