Former Tampa Bay Buccaneers coach Jon Gruden was rumored to have drawn interest from the New York Jets about the team's vacant offensive coordinator position.
Gruden said the reports are not true.
“There’s a lot of reports we’re not going to get into,” Gruden told WDAE's Tom Krasniqi on Thursday. “As you know, there’s a lot of stupid rumors out there. Some of these reports are ridiculous. Let’s just say there was never anything from the Jets.”
Gruden will always be remembered in Tampa as the first coach to lead the Bucs to a Super Bowl. More than 17 years after coaching his last game in Tampa Bay, Gruden is still the team’s all-time winningest head coach (57).
