The Tampa Bay Buccaneers could use an inside linebacker, and a former All-Pro is on the market in the New York Jets' Quincy Williams.
Williams, a first-team All-Pro in 2023, is finishing up a three-year, $18 million contract, and his market value, per Sportac, is one-year, $9,196,852. This makes him a cheaper option than others the Bucs have been linked to at the position, such as Devin Lloyd (three years, $60,484,512), Devin Bush (three years, $26,699,712) and Nakobe Dean (four years, $31,599,724), although Dean's annual value would be lower ($7,913,834).
At the same time, there's a reason Williams would come cheaper, and that's because what he was in 2025 was a far cry from what he was during his all-pro season and even 2024.
Williams missed four games with a shoulder injury, and when he did play, struggled to the point where he was benched in November.
There's reason to think that Williams can still play at a high level. Williams is still a fairly young player who won't turn 30 until late August, and playing for Tampa Bay (five division titles since 2020) as opposed to the Jets (zero division titles since 2002) could make for the change of scenery players sometimes need to change their fortune.
