Tampa Bay Buccaneers legend Rondé Barber recently had a lot to say about Todd Bowles running the Bucs defense.
Since then, the team has hired Zac Robinson as offensive cooridnator, and Barber recently gave his thoughts on the hire
“I’m OK with (Robinson). I like the offense that he has drawn up and there’s a lot of complexity in the system,” Barber said on "The Rondé Barber Show." “He needs a sharp-minded quarterback that can handle the nuance of this system. You know, Baker can handle this type of system, knowing that it will be Baker’s ninth coordinator in nine years. This is a system I think Baker would love to be able to play in. … To me, there’s so many parts of this offense, a well-oiled machine if you will, players-wise [and] talent-wise on that side of the ball can really thrive in."
For Barber, QB play is a big reason why the Falcons moved on from head coach Raheem Morris and, ultimatley, Robinson.
“I think Atlanta struggled because the quarterback struggled," he said. "Michael Penix in his second year wasn’t quite ready to run this kind of system. They kind of had to dumb it down.”
