Those who want Mike Tomlin to replace Todd Bowles as head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers will be disappointed by the prediction of one of the team's legends.

Ronde Barber, who played under Tomlin for five seasons when Tomlin was Tampa Bay's defensive backs coach. The NFL Hall-of-Fame cornerback, who remains close to the former Pittsburgh Steelers coach, said on The Ronde Barber Show that he believes Tomlin is done with coaching.

“There’s a lot of stories out there about Mike coming up and wanting to take one year off" before returning to coaching, Barber said. “I’m gonna tell you right now, dude, I think he’s done. I think he wants to be done.

"Last year, I was in Long Island with him, and he told me then. He said, ‘I think this is my last year.’ And didn’t say anything to anyone else for the entirety of the year."

Tomlin stunned the football world when he stepped down on Jan. 13 after 19 years at the helm of the Steelers.

Tomlin was the one who put Barber's gold Hall of Fame jacket on him in August 2023.
