The New England Patriots' season ended swiftly on Sunday. The AFC champions lost the Super Bowl to the Seattle Seahawks, 29-13. Even the score does not indicate how decisively the Seahawks won the game as all 13 Patriots points were scored in the fourth quarter.

The Chargers lost in similar fashion to the Patriots indicating they were as far behind the Patriots as New England trailed Seattle.

The Chargers may not be 20-30 points worse than the Seahawks, but the fact that they were not competitive against New England illustrates how far they have to travel to contend for a Super Bowl.
