Kimani Vidal has admirably carried the Chargers’ backfield in Omarion Hampton’s absence, compiling 399 rushing yards and two touchdowns over the past six games while adding 11 receptions for 51 yards and another score.

His production has fluctuated from week to week, but overall, he has delivered solid RB2 value during Hampton’s recovery.

That runway may be narrowing.

Hampton, a first-round pick, commanded the majority of the workload early in the season and is expected to resume a significant role upon his return.

The impending timeshare dampens the fantasy ceiling for both players, though Hampton remains the more reliable starting option.

Until the Chargers reveal how quickly they reintegrate him, he should be viewed as a low-end RB2 or flex with notable boom-or-bust potential.

For Vidal, the picture is less optimistic.

While he has proven capable as a fill-in starter, his fantasy value projects to take a steep hit once Hampton is fully involved.

At best, Vidal profiles as a deep-league desperation flex moving forward.

This backfield may operate as a one-two punch, but Vidal is expected—whether immediately or in short order—to settle into a clear No. 2 role behind Hampton.
