Should The Colts Try To Sign Daniel Jones To A New Contract During The Season?

It's only been eight games, but already, Jones has established himself as the Colts' quarterback of the present and the future. (Goodbye, Anthony Richardson. Nice knowing you.) But the question remains, should the Colts sign him sooner rather than later, or should they let the season play out? My sense of it is that both sides would prefer to stay the course, let the season continue and sit down at the end of the year. For the Colts, they want to see if Jones can maintain this torrid pace that has people talking about the MVP or Offensive Player of the Year awards. For Jones, he wants to continue to bet on himself; his price goes up with every great performance. Oct 31, 2025

In a word, yes. A thousand times yes. First priority is finding veteran help in the secondary, where the Colts are down to the bottom of the roster due to injuries. Second priority is to kick the tires on some edge pass rushers. Chris Ballard doesn't usually do anything at the deadline. This would seem like a good time to change course. Oct 20, 2025
