The Indianapolis Colts are losing one of the key pieces of their gameday experience.
On Sunday, ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Colts football analyst/game management specialist Charlie Gelman is heading back to the Baltimore Ravens as their Game Management Coordinator and defensive assistant.
Gelman spent three seasons in Indianapolis as a football analyst/game management specialist, previously with the Ravens from 2019 to 2023 as a scouting analytics intern, coaching research intern, and football analyst.
In his time with the Colts, part of Gelman's role was to work with head coach Shane Steichen and the coaching staff on gameday strategy and in-game scenarios.
Gelman now returns to Baltimore to work with new head coach Jesse Minter, who replaces John Harbaugh after Harbaugh was fired after 18 years.
In recent weeks, other Colts assistants have drawn the attention of the NFL. Defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo has interviewed for the head coaching roles of the Buffalo Bills, New York Giants, and Tennessee Titans. Offensive coordinator Jim Bob Cooter has interviewed for the same title with the Philadelphia Eagles and the Giants. Passing game coordinator Alex Tanney is also in the mix for the Giants' offensive coordinator role.
