NFL Changes Preseason Roster Cutdown Date

The NFL is forcing teams to make their preseason roster cuts two days ahead of time, beginning this year.

Previously, teams must have their rosters cut from 90 players to 53 players by 4:00 p.m. ET on the Tuesday before Week 1. Now, the deadline is 6:00 p.m. ET on the Sunday before.

This year's deadline is now Sunday, August 30 at 6:00 p.m. ET rather than Tuesday, September 1 at 4:00 p.m. ET.
