INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The Indianapolis Colts (3-1) prepare to rebound from their first loss of the season last week as they host the Las Vegas Raiders (1-3) at Lucas Oil Stadium on Sunday.
They will have to do it without a pair of starters, wide receiver Alec Pierce and slot corner Kenny Moore II, as well as two key special teamers in Tyler Goodson and Daniel Scott, as injuries are beginning to pile up.
Meanwhile, the Raiders have their own issues, as their top two tight ends, Brock Bowers and Michael Mayer, are both questionable, as is a starting cornerback in Eric Stokes.
Friday evening, it was also reported by Q Myers of the Locker On Raiders podcast that linebacker Germaine Pratt (not injury-related) will not travel with the Raiders to Indianapolis. The Raiders also placed starting left tackle Kolton Miller on Injured Reserve this week with an ankle injury.
Here's how each team's health is shaping up ahead of Sunday afternoon's battle:
WEDNESDAY
THURSDAY
FRIDAY
QUESTIONABLE — DE Tyquan Lewis (oblique)
OUT — RB Tyler Goodson (groin), CB Kenny Moore II (Achilles), WR Alec Pierce (concussion), S Daniel Scott (knee)
Without Pierce, expect to see Ashton Dulin and AD Mitchell take over opposite of Michael Pittman Jr. If head coach Shane Steichen's comments this week are any indication, Mitchell could take a back seat to Dulin after a pair of costly mistakes in last week's loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Steichen has declined to commit to Mitchell playing on Sunday and has said that he will have to earn his role moving forward
Without Moore, the Colts will likely elevate Mike Hilton from the practice squad, as they did last week. The Colts had only signed Hilton last week following Moore's injury, but played him 58 snaps despite it being Hilton's first game of the season.
In Goodson's absence, the Colts may elect to elevate either Ameer Abdullah or Ulysses Bentley IV from the practice squad.
WEDNESDAY
THURSDAY
FRIDAY
QUESTIONABLE — TE Brock Bowers (knee), TE Michael Mayer (concussion), CB Eric Stokes (knee)
The Raiders could be without their top two tight ends, Bowers and Mayer, of whom Bowers may be the best tight end in football. Meanwhile, Las Vegas may be missing a starting corner in Stokes despite already giving up over seven yards per pass attempt.
The Colts and Raiders play this Sunday at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis at 1:00 p.m. E.T. on FOX.
