INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. — The Indianapolis Colts will be a bit shorthanded on Sunday as they host the Las Vegas Raiders, as head coach Shane Steichen ruled out wide receiver Alec Pierce (concussion), cornerback Kenny Moore II (Achilles), running back Tyler Goodson (groin), and safety Daniel Scott (knee).
Pierce suffered a concussion in Week 3 against the Tennessee Titans and did not return, and he was out last week against the Los Angeles Rams. Pierce was a full participant in practice on Wednesday and Thursday but did not practice on Friday. Steichen said Pierce has not cleared the protocol. In his place, Ashton Dulin and AD Mitchell will likely fill in. Mitchell had well-documented gaffes last week that led to Steichen saying that Mitchell would have to earn his role back, so don't be surprised if we see more Dulin than Mitchell on Sunday.
Moore was also injured late in Week 3 and did not return, but has not played or practiced since. The Colts signed veteran Mike Hilton to play the slot last week in Moore's place, started him, and he performed well. That will likely be the plan again on Sunday, assuming the Colts call him up from the practice squad on Saturday.
Goodson was injured last week against the Rams. He briefly returned to the field but then quickly left the game again. He did not practice this week. The Colts have a couple of practice squad options in veteran Ameer Abdullah and undrafted rookie Ulysses Bentley IV that they can call up.
Scott is a special-teamer, who has seen 50 snaps on the four units this season.
