I don't think anyone expected that Josh Johnson was going to come in and beat the Cowboys, but there were definitely some moral victories from today's loss. A few of those silver linings:
- The Commanders are now 4-12 and would have the No. 7 overall draft pick. If a few more things go right (Jets, Cardinals, Titans, Browns wins), Washington could end up selecting a defensive gamechanger next April.
- The defense got stops in the second half. Obviously it was a rough start, but they rebounded well.
- Johnny Newton was awesome. Finished with 3 sacks, 5 QB hits, 9 tackles and 2 tackles-for-loss
- As a whole, the pass rush was much better. Six sacks on Dak!
- Big day for Bill: 11 carries for 105 yards and two touchdowns
- I remain decently impressed with Treylon Burks, and I hope the front office brings him back next season.
