I don't care if the Eagles are resting their starters on Sunday — I believe that Josh Johnson will lead the Commanders to the promised land (a better draft pick)!

At 4-12, Washington is currently in the No. 7 overall draft slot. The Commanders can't slip any lower because the Saints keep winning, but I believe they could get as high as the No. 2 overall pick if a bunch of miracles happen:

  • Browns beat Bengals (reach 5-12)
  • Cardinals beat Rams (reach 4-13, harder strength of schedule than WAS)
  • Titans beat Jaguars (reach 4-13, harder strength of schedule than WAS)
  • Jets beat Bills (reach 4-13, harder strength of schedule than WAS)
  • Giants beat Cowboys (reach 4-13, harder strength of schedule than WAS)

If all of that happens and the Commanders lose to the Eagles, the draft order would look like this:

  1. Raiders: 2-15 or 3-14 (.542 SOS)
  2. Commanders: 4-13 (.509 SOS)
  3. Giants: 4-13 (.531 SOS)
  4. Jets: 4-13 (.550 SOS)
  5. Titans: 4-13 (.574 SOS)
  6. Cardinals: 4-13 (.577 SOS)
  7. Browns: 5-12 (.491 SOS)

Do I think all of that will happen? No, but with teams like the Rams, Jags and Bills likely to rest their starters, plus young QBs attempting to show out for the Browns and Giants, some of those outcomes are definitely possible!
