Running back Travis Etienne is leaving the Jacksonville Jaguars after agreeing Monday to sign with the New Orleans Saints, according to multiple reports.
The fifth-year tailback has agreed to a four-year, $52 million contract with the Saints, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The Jennings, Louisiana, native just finished his fifth year in Jacksonville, though he was sidelined for his entire rookie season with a Listfranc injury. He was reportedly on the wish lists of numerous NFL teams looking to sign a top-notch tailback in free agency.
In 2025, Etienne was playing out the remainder of his rookie contract, which included a fifth-year option.
Etienne was a top-15 running back in the league last season, rushing for 1,107 yards and seven touchdowns. He has totaled three 1,000-plus rushing-yard seasons, the last two back-to-back in 2024 and 2025.
Etienne was selected in 2021 by the Jags in the first round (25th overall) from the same draft class and college team, Clemson, as No. 1-pick quarterback Trevor Lawrence. The duo worked like a hand-in-glove fit last season for coach Liam Coen and offensive coordinator Grant Udinski's offense in Jacksonville.
Converted to a dual-threat tailback when he came into the league under doomed Jags coach Urban Meyer, Etienne also had 36 receptions for 292 yards and six touchdowns this past season.
