While Houston Texans fans remained optimistic that veteran running back Joe Mixon would join the offense this season, his lingering foot injury continues to keep the 29-year-old out of action and likely off the field for the season. 

NFL Insider Ian Rapoport took to his X account this morning to provide an update on the Texans running back. 

"RB Joe Mixon is not expected to play this season as he deals with a foot injury from the offseason. Mixon likely remains on the Physically Unable to Perform list through the season. Meanwhile, Houston moves forward with Nick Chubb and Woody Marks."

With the Texans looking to make a late playoff push as they currently sit on the bubble, it is time for the team to move forward without thinking Mixon will return at any point.
