The latest mock draft from Pro Football Focus projected the Tennessee Titans to trade up with the New York Jets for the No. 2 overall pick to take Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love.
I'm already against the idea of the Titans taking Love in the first round. I think it's more of a luxury pick that this franchise can't afford right now, but if they trade up and take Love, it would be an absolute disaster.
For starters, is anybody realistically trading up in front of the Titans to get Love? And is one of the teams picking in front of them going to take him? It feels unnecessary, not to mention the extra draft capital, which is essential at this stage in a rebuild, that it would cost you to make that deal.
That's the kind of move that gets a GM fired, and I don't think there's any way Mike Borgonzi does it.
