Less than a month after being dismissed by the Minnesota Vikings, former general manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah has quickly found his next opportunity, and it comes with a familiar organization.
Speaking at the NFL Scouting Combine inside the Indianapolis Convention Center, John Lynch confirmed that Adofo-Mensah is returning to the San Francisco 49ers in an executive role within the personnel department.
While his official title has yet to be finalized, the team plans to make it official following the NFL Draft.
The move marks a swift rebound for Adofo-Mensah, who was fired by Minnesota on January 30 in a somewhat surprising decision given the timing.
The Vikings opted to move forward with Rob Brzezinski as interim general manager and have indicated they will not name a permanent replacement until after the draft.
For San Francisco, the addition brings back a respected talent evaluator with prior experience in the organization.
For Adofo-Mensah, it’s a rapid return to a front office environment and a fresh opportunity to help shape a contender’s roster heading into the 2026 season.
