With Brian Flores potentially moving on, the Minnesota Vikings may look to a familiar name to stabilize their defense: Jonathan Gannon.

Fresh off being fired as the Arizona Cardinals’ head coach following the 2025 regular season, Gannon could be an intriguing coordinator candidate.

His three-year stint in Arizona produced limited results, but context matters.

Despite his struggles as a head coach, Gannon’s reputation as a defensive mind remains strong.

He was instrumental in guiding the Philadelphia Eagles to the Super Bowl during the 2022 season, earning praise for his schematic flexibility and ability to develop players.

Gannon also has direct ties to Minnesota, having served as the Vikings’ assistant defensive backs coach under Mike Zimmer from 2014 to 2017.

That familiarity with the organization could make him a natural fit if the Vikings prioritize continuity and experience while reshaping their defensive leadership.
