Running back Ty Chandler has been officially activated. He is expected to play over the final two weeks of the regular season, giving Minnesota a timely boost as it closes out the year.
Chandler was activated on Tuesday, just ahead of the Vikings’ Week 17 matchup against the Detroit Lions.
After being sidelined since the season opener with a knee injury suffered against the Chicago Bears, Chandler is finally healthy and ready to contribute.
His return comes at a moment when Minnesota could use fresh legs and added explosiveness in the offensive backfield.
Although rookie quarterback J.J. McCarthy will miss the holiday matchup due to a hand injury,
Chandler’s presence offers balance and flexibility to the offense.
Coaches are expected to ease him back in but still give him a meaningful workload, especially with the Vikings seeking consistency on the ground late in the season.
