The Vikings have activated running back Ty Chandler from injured reserve, bringing back a versatile contributor whose season was disrupted by a significant knee injury.
Chandler, 27, saw the final year of his rookie contract derailed after getting hurt in Week 1 against the Bears.
He played 13 special teams snaps in that game, including three kick returns, highlighted by a savvy late-game decision to bring the ball out of the end zone and drain the clock past the two-minute warning, ultimately forcing Chicago to use an additional timeout.
He was placed on IR shortly afterward and has been sidelined for nearly three months.
