Leverkusen's ability to rebuild is becoming ridiculous.

Most clubs lose Wirtz, Xhaka, Frimpong, Grimaldo, Tah, Hincapié and Alonso within such a short period and the cycle is over. You accept a few years of transition and start again. Leverkusen basically started building the next team while the previous one was still being dismantled. It took time, but I personally feel like the new generation is now ready to take over. Quansah, Badé, Gutiérrez, Tillman, Maza, Kofane, and especially Moreira. Completely different team, completely different generation, but one with huge potential again. I think this is what Simon Rolfes deserves the most credit for. Not just finding good players, but knowing when to move on and making sure Leverkusen are already halfway into the next cycle before everyone realizes the old one is finished. His work deserves a lot more appreciation, I believe.Oct 7, 2026

Four years ago today, Xabi Alonso took over Bayer Leverkusen

It's already been four years since Xabi Alonso was appointed Bayer Leverkusen boss, and even their biggest fan could NEVER have predicted how it would turn out. In just his second season, he led them to the domestic double, including an INVINCIBLE Bundesliga season. One appointment that changed the entire history of an entire club.Oct 5, 2026

Can Maza and Tillman co-exist?

When he was at Bayern and PSV, I always thought of Tillman as someone you want close to the box, but since the World Cup, I'm starting to like him much more when he has the game in front of him. He can carry through midfield, escape pressure and then still arrive around the box rather than already being there waiting for the ball. Maybe the question with Tillman was never whether he could replace Wirtz. Maybe Leverkusen was looking at him as something completely different. The question now, is can Maza and Tillman co-exist?Oct 4, 2026

Are you convinced by Carles Martínez’s Leverkusen so far?

I wasn't really sure what to expect after so much changed in the summer, but I'm starting to really like this Leverkusen team. You can already see Martínez trying to make them his own. They want the ball; the full-backs are very aggressive, and there are so many technical players in midfield who can play through pressure. Still very early, but what do you think of Martínez so far?Oct 3, 2026

Can we talk about Miguel Gutiérrez’s crossing ability?

Leverkusen lost one of Grimaldo's biggest weapons, but somehow replaced it with a younger profile who offers similar quality from wide areas while potentially being more complete in other phases. Gutiérrez looks built for this role.Oct 2, 2026
