RB Leipzig survive a difficult night in Essen!
RB Leipzig's 2–1 victory over Rot-Weiss Essen was far from comfortable, but it was exactly the kind of cup tie that tests a team's character. Playing away from home against a determined opponent is difficult enough, but having to manage the game with ten men made the challenge even greater. What stood out was Leipzig's ability to fight through those circumstances and find a way to win. It wasn't a performance built on complete control or attractive football, but this was a must-win game, regardless of how the team played. For Demichelis and his players, getting the result was what mattered most. There is still plenty to improve, but overcoming a difficult opponent under these circumstances and progressing to the next round is an important step. Was this a sign of Leipzig's growing character under Demichelis, or are you still concerned about the team's performances?

Yan Diomandé finishes 5th in the Young Talent of the Year rankings!
The former RB Leipzig winger has finished fifth in the 2026 Ballon d'Or Young Talent of the Year rankings, just behind Bayern Munich's Lennart Karl. Although Diomandé has already left Leipzig, his performances in an RB shirt played an important role in earning him this recognition. His explosive acceleration, ability to beat defenders in one-on-one situations and directness in the final third made him one of the Bundesliga's most dangerous attacking players.

Antonio Nusa is becoming Leipzig's most important attacking player!
Two assists against Elversberg, but I think what impressed me most was his decision-making. We've always known how dangerous Nusa can be in one-on-one situations, but he's starting to understand when to take his opponent on, when to release the ball, and, most importantly, how to stay consistent throughout the games. For Gomis' goal, he used his strength to beat his defender before finding his teammate in space. For Rômulo's goal, it was a completely different action, recognising the striker's movement and playing the pass through the defensive line. This is what's making him so difficult to defend. If you stand off him, he can carry the ball into dangerous areas. If you get too close, he can beat you and create space for someone else. Do you agree that Nusa is now Leipzig's most important attacking player, even with Nkunku in the team?

Tidiam Gomis is making big progress at RB Leipzig!
Martín Demichelis has praised the young striker's development, highlighting his hard work, versatility, and impressive attitude. "Tidi has made huge strides. He always works his socks off, he had a great pre-season this summer and is getting better all the time." Against Elversberg, he started centrally before moving to both wings. As a striker, his pace makes him dangerous when attacking the space behind defenders. Out wide, he can isolate full-backs, carry the ball forward, and create problems in transition. What I particularly like is how much more decisive he's becoming in the final third. Four goals and two assists this season suggest he's starting to turn that raw ability into actual end product. There's still plenty to improve, especially his decision-making against compact defences, but I think Gomis has earned a bigger role in this Leipzig attack.

Can former RB Leipzig star Yan Diomande stop Lamine Yamal from winning a third consecutive Kopa Trophy?
Yan Diomande may have left RB Leipzig, but his performances in a Leipzig shirt could still play a major role in deciding the next Kopa Trophy winner. Lamine Yamal remains the player to beat, but Diomande's season at Leipzig deserves recognition. Could it be enough to deny Yamal a third consecutive Kopa Trophy?
