The Celtic loanee's cousin has hinted that he could end up making a permanent move to Parkhead this summer.

Celtic will be hoping to finish this season strong, hopefully with a couple more trophies to add to the cabinet. In the long run, though, they will need to add to their squad. It is clearly not good enough, even for the Scottish Premiership. Forget Europe.

Celtic fans will be hoping for the addition of some fresh quality into the squad this summer. At the same time, they have a few decisions to make when it comes to their current crop of loanees.

Do not fall in love with a loan player. That is age-old advice for football fans that has become stereotypical, and even an internet meme in recent years. Yet, there are some who end up becoming fan favourites very quickly. Julian Araujo certainly belongs on that list.

Araujo has made the right-back spot his own since arriving on loan from Bournemouth in January. Incidentally, he was the only signing made during the Wilfried Nancy era. Perhaps also the only right decision made during that 33-day reign as Celtic manager.

With Alistair Johnston injured, Celtic needed to make an addition there, and Araujo has filled that gap brilliantly. But perhaps even more importantly, he seems to have won over the support during a period of time when not a lot has gone right for the Hoops. The Mexican right-back certainly deserves a ton of credit for that.

There are already calls for the club to sign him on a permanent basis in the summer. Celtic do not have a buyout clause though, so they will have to find an agreement with Bournemouth. Based on his time in Glasgow, Araujo has certainly boosted his transfer valuation.

Amid all this, Celtic fans have been handed some welcome news when it comes to the club's chances of signing Araujo.

Araujo's cousin was recently asked about the Mexican right-back's chances of being in a Celtic jersey next season on Instagram. He replied, accompanied by a shushing face emoji: "Chances are high."

Araujo certainly seems to be enjoying his time in Glasgow and staying with Celtic might be the correct step for his career. He is getting regular football here, after making just one solitary appearance in the first half of the season with Bournemouth.

It is worth pointing out though that competition for places will increase when Johnston returns from injury. But considering the Canadian international's injury record, it might be time to start thinking about life beyond him as the starting right-back at Celtic.

At the same time, having two quality options is not the worst idea either. Celtic play a ton of football over the course of the season and there is plenty of game time to go around.
