On Saturday evening, Chelsea got their FA Cup campaign off to the perfect start, with a resounding 5-1 victory away to Championship side and fellow London outfit Charlton Athletic.
It was also the beginning of the Liam Rosenior era, who couldn't have asked for a much better start to life in the Chelsea dugout. Hopefully, he can keep the momentum going.
Earlier last evening, ahead of Liverpool's home clash with Barnsley to wrap up the third round, the fourth-round draw was made, including Chelsea's opponents.
Indeed, Chelsea have now found out who they will be playing in the fourth round, where they have been tasked with another Championship opponent, as Rosenior's side will travel up to Humberside to face Hull City.
This will be a special game for Chelsea's new manager, who was previously manager of Hull during the 23/24 season, before being sacked after failing to reach the play-offs, with the team finishing in 7th place.
So, he will be particularly motivated to get one over his old employers, who deemed him not good enough. For the team, it is a good opportunity to reach the fifth round and the latter stages.
Crystal Palace's shock defeat away to Maccesfield shows no team should be underestimated, but this is most certainly a draw that the Chelsea faithful would have been happy with earlier today. So, there can be a few complaints, if at all.
Many will remember the last trip to Hull in the FA Cup fourth round in 2020—a hard-fought 2-1 win with goals from Batshuayi and Tomori.
The fourth round matches will take place from Friday, February 13, to Monday, February 16.
