Enzo Maresca doesn't seem too concerned about the number of red cards Chelsea has received in recent matches. Despite a 3-0 win against Nottingham Forest, Malo Gusto was booked for a bad tackle in the waning moments of the match on Saturday.
Add that to the growing tally on the season, and the side has been booked for reds a total of four in just six matches.
Enzo Maresca has also found himself on the receiving end of red cards. He was sent off for boisterous celebration after Estêvão’s last-minute goal to beat Liverpool.
Maresca’s remarks after the incident reflected his previous views before the October international break. Maresca stated that every sending off should be “analyzed case by case,” suggesting that each incident be looked at as an isolated matter
This doesn’t come without concern ahead of the international break, and the match up against Ajax. While Chelsea fares well against Dutch teams in the Champions league, it does beg the question if discipline will be an issue, and if their opponents capitalize off it.
