Mikel Arteta's Arsenal and Liam Rosenior's Chelsea will face each other in the Carabao Cup semifinal second leg, seeking a place in the final and the chance to win the title. The match is scheduled for this Tuesday, 3 February at Emirates Stadium, and nothing has been decided yet.
The first leg ended 3-2 in favor of the Gunners, who at that time were in good footballing form, but now everything suggests the tables have turned and the momentum could swing in favor of the Blues. However, until the match is played, the story cannot be told. The home side will pursue the dream of a quadruple, and the visitors will seek glory with an inexperienced manager.
GK: Robert Sanchez - He has conceded five goals in his last three matches, so if he wants to steer his team to a good result, he will need to be at his very best for Chelsea to advance.
RB: Malo Gusto - The Frenchman has already taken ownership of the right flank. Although he was not called up for the first leg of the EFL Cup, he returned in top form and will be in this duel to try and turn the scoreline around.
CB: Trevoh Chalobah - Although he was very precise with the ball at his feet, he could do little to stop the opponent's attacks in the first meeting. He focused more on breaking up play than initiating dangerous moves.
CB: Wesley Fofana - He only won 50% of his aerial and ground duels in the last match, so he will need to improve to be up to the task in this crucially important game for his team.
LB: Marc Cucurella - He scored against West Ham, was tackled hard on several occasions, but when he's on form, he is one of the best fullbacks in English football. He also often ventures into the box with menace, which is important for the Blues' objective.
RM: Jamie Gittens - For this match, it is still unknown if Estevao will be present, as he is absent due to personal problems. This is why the Englishman would have to step in and try to perform well despite his limited minutes played.
CDM: Moises Caicedo - This man, an immovable piece for Liam Rosenior, must appear in the important moments. He did not play the first leg but has performed well in the Champions League and FA Cup.
CM: Enzo Fernandez - The team's captain is everything. He has scored in his last three matches across various competitions, which speaks for itself. He will be there, and if the match needs someone with fine touch, it is him with his proven quality.
CAM: Cole Palmer - He has just recovered from an injury that kept him out for several matches, but against Napoli he provided two assists, so it is highly probable he will get minutes and aid the cause.
LM: Alejandro Garnacho - He has played few minutes in his recent appearances, but he was the best player in the first leg, scoring a brace, so he will be the perfect partner for the center-forward.
ST: Joao Pedro - This is the man Rosenior trusts the most, as in the four games he has started him, he has scored four goals. This is the perfect opportunity to solidify that starting spot so no one can move him.
This is how Chelsea's formation (4-3-2-1) would look.
