Rumors are circulating this week that former Chelsea winger Christian Pulisic could soon return to the Premier League. Arsenal is reportedly interested in the AC Milan attacker.
As always in these cases, comparisons are being made with Mohamed Salah and Kevin De Bruyne: young players the Blues let go who later returned to the league to establish themselves as world-class stars.
It would be very interesting to know what Chelsea fans think about Pulisic's legacy and how they would feel about his possible return to the Premier League. There certainly wasn't much fanfare when he was sold.
The winger had an incredible run of form, where he was so good that for a moment it seemed he was going to be one of the best in the world in his position. But a lack of consistency and a constant battle with minor injuries prevented fans from truly embracing him or him from establishing himself as a top-level player. He has undoubtedly taken steps forward at Milan.
Even so, the comparisons with Salah and De Bruyne are exaggerated. Both players were significantly younger and perceived to have higher ceilings when they left Chelsea. While Pulisic has improved since his move to Milan, most analysts doubt he will reach the elite levels achieved by Salah and De Bruyne.
He has consolidated his position as the central figure in AC Milan's attack during the current 2025/26 campaign, maintaining a competitive pace that places him among the most influential footballers in Serie A.
Throughout his 28 appearances in all competitions, the American forward has recorded 11 goals and provided 8 assists, totaling 2,140 minutes on the pitch.
His impact has not been limited to the Italian league, where he has been decisive in keeping the team in the top positions of the table, but he has also shown notable maturity in the UEFA Champions League, leading offensive transitions and creating chances from the right wing.
Pulisic's ability to remain physically available and his effectiveness in front of goal have allowed the San Siro side to maintain a consistent offensive balance, even exceeding expectations generated by his great performance in the previous cycle.
