Chelsea have officially announced that they have agreed a deal with the highly-rated English midfielder.

Chelsea are embarking on another new era right now, having replaced Enzo Maresca with Liam Rosenior just last month. That has continued their run of constantly changing managers.

They had done the same under Roman Abramovich as well. The difference is that the success back then justified the methods. There has been very little of that under this new ownership, whose methods seem to be based more on the player trading model and less on the results on the pitch.

One thing they seem to be getting right though is handing contracts to Cobham's best and brightest. Quite a few of them might be part of the future of the club.

Chelsea have agreed a few deals with their youth prospects over the last couple of months. Now, there is another piece of good news.

Chelsea have announced on the club's official website that Mathis Eboue has signed his first professional contract with the Blues following his 17th birthday.

Eboue joined Chelsea from Watford a year ago, back in January of 2025. He has gone from strength to strength since then.

The 17-year-old attacking midfielder has been a fixture in the U-18 Premier League for Chelsea, scoring 3 goals and providing 3 assists in 12 appearances this season. He has also turned out for the club's U-21 side and featured in the UEFA Youth League for the Blues.

His good form for Chelsea has been recognised at the international level as well. Eboue made his debut for the England U-17 side in September of last year. He also scored a hat-trick against the USA in just 23 minutes in November, to prove that he more than belongs.

Let's hope that this is just the beginning for Eboue and there is a lot more to come from him in the future.

It is always hard to predict what the future holds for youngsters at this level, because their development might not always go according to plan. That being said, it does feel like Eboue is someone who might be set for big things if he can continue on this path. Congratulations to him on signing his first professional contract. We wish him the best in his journey moving forward.
