On Friday night, Chelsea safely progressed to the FA Cup fifth round proper with a 4-0 win away to Championship high flyers Hull City, up on the Humberside.
It was exactly the night that Liam Rosenior would have been hoping for. A comfortable win, a clean sheet, a first-ever career hat-trick for Pedro Neto, and so on and so forth.
Earlier today, ahead of Macclesfield's home tie to Premier League side Brentford, the draw for the fifth round commenced at Moss Rose, the home of the non-league outfit.
So, now we know who Chelsea will be facing. Indeed, with the Blues being given a trip to North Wales to face Wrexham, it makes it three consecutive away games against Championship opponents in this competition.
This means that the March schedule currently looks like this: Arsenal and Aston Villa (A), Wrexham (A), Champions League R016 first leg (A), Newcastle United (H), Champions League RO16 (H), Everton (A).
The opponents in those Champions League games will be confirmed on Friday, the 27th of February, after the play-offs take place. Chelsea will play one of Newcastle, PSG, Monaco, or Qarabag.
As for this draw, not too bad. Mansfield Town were the softest opponents to get, but it could have been much worse. You can't complain about avoiding Manchester City, Liverpool, Arsenal and co.
That said, it will not be easy. Wrexham have already knocked out Premier League opposition this season in Nottingham Forest, albeit Chelsea are clearly a much better side than their East Midlands counterparts.
Wrexham have been one of the biggest stories in recent years. Last season, they became the first ever team to achieve back-to-back-to-back promotions from the National League to the Championship. There is a non-zero chance they make it four promotions in a row, too. They currently sit in 8th place, one point off the playoffs with a game in hand to play.
There has been no fairytale, it should be said. Five or so years ago, they were taken over by actors Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, who have pumped serious money into the club. Before they took over, Wrexham were the longest serving National League side, having been in the division for over 10 years at the time. They were promoted in their 15th season.
Nevertheless, they have certainly got a serious side, and boast former Premier League players such as Kieffer Moore and Jay Rodriguez. It could be the hardest test of all the Championship opponents yet.
