Sjoeke Nusken and Lauren James scored the goals in Chelsea's first victory since the surprising departure of head of women's football, Paul Green.
Speaking to the media after the match, Bompastor expressed her pride in her team's character following a difficult week.
"Everyone can be proud of everyone in this team, coaching staff and players," Bompastor said. "This week has been really tough for us emotionally."
Chelsea had to wait for their goalscoring opportunities, but Bompastor was satisfied with her team's performance.
She said, "I'm very happy with the result. Every game is very important for us and right now, we are doing well in the fundamentals.
"It took us a little while to score the first goal, but in the second half we took control of the game."
Forward James scored the decisive second goal and assisted Nusken in the first half. Bompastor highlighted the player's strong performance in what was her first 90-minute appearance in approximately 10 months, since last March's UEFA Women's Champions League match against Manchester City.
She said, "It was a good performance from LJ. She helped the team win the game and scored a great goal. She is trying to get back to her best level and right now she is doing very well. I'm very happy with how she is playing and how she contributes to the team.
"I think when LJ performs at this level, she is one of the first names you put on the teamsheet. That is important heading into the decisive part of the season: having quality players who are performing.
"The most important thing is to keep LJ as fit as possible, so it is also important for her to keep building this physical condition because she can perform at a very high level and contribute a lot to the performance."
Another player who impressed Bompastor was academy graduate Lexi Potter, who replaced Kiera Walsh in the 74th minute. She acknowledged Potter's growing confidence and maturity and expressed her desire for her to have the best possible future at Chelsea.
She said, "I'm not really surprised because I know the quality she has. Sometimes it's a little difficult for a young player because of the depth we have in the Chelsea squad. There is great competition with everyone else in that position, but she always has the right mindset.
"She always works very hard and I think every time she gets the opportunity, she is ready to perform."
Chelsea will return to action on Sunday, when they host Manchester United in the Adobe Women's FA Cup at Kingsmeadow.
