Klopp achieved great success during his time at Liverpool, winning the Champions League in 2019 and leading Liverpool to its first league title in 30 years in the 2019-20 season. The German coach also won the FA Cup, the League Cup, and the Club World Cup during his spell with the Reds, before surprising fans around the world by announcing his departure in 2024.
Klopp explained the reasons for his departure in an emotional statement: "I told the club back in November. I understand that it's a surprise for a lot of people at the moment, when you hear it for the first time, but obviously, I can explain it, or at least try to.
I absolutely love everything about this club, I love everything about the city, I love everything about our fans, I love the team, and I love the staff. I love everything. But the fact that I took this decision shows that I am convinced that it is the one I have to take.
It's just that, how should I put it, I'm running out of energy. I don't have any problem now, obviously, I knew for a while that I would have to announce it at some point, but now I'm perfectly fine. I know that I cannot keep doing this job over and over and over and over again."
Kosicke has now revealed how clubs have tried to convince Klopp to return to the dugout, stating that he has already rejected offers from two of Liverpool's rivals in the Premier League: "Even Chelsea and Manchester United showed interest in him, although Jurgen had made it clear that he would not coach any other club in England.
These offers keep coming. He is very happy with what he has achieved. And it is still wonderful to go down in history as one of the few coaches who has only managed three clubs and has never been sacked.
Maybe at some point, he will say that he needs to smell the dressing room again. But for now, he is very, very happy in his position. Before joining Red Bull, Jurgen could have coached the United States or England. Probably Germany too, if Julian Nagelsmann hadn't already been there."
Klopp has spoken about how he is enjoying life away from the dugout and that he has not missed football management since taking charge of Red Bull. In September, The Athletic asked him if he thought he would stay away from the sideline, and he replied: "That's what I think. But you never know. I'm 58. If I started again at 65, everyone would say: 'You said you would never do it again!' Eh, I'm sorry, I meant it (when I said it)! That's what I think now. I don't miss anything."
