Chelsea has just suffered its fourth consecutive defeat, a feat that had not happened since 1993, which increases the pressure on Rosenior, who must turn the situation around by taking advantage of the international break to get his team back in shape.

Chelsea’s loss to Everton is the fourth consecutive defeat for Rosenior’s team in all competitions and will put the Blues’ manager in the spotlight. Chelsea remains sixth in the Premier League standings, but now holds only a two-point lead over Everton at a time when the fight for European places is intensifying.

Two goals from Beto and a spectacular goal from Iliman Ndiaye decided the match and also meant the London team has failed to score in any of its last three games.

Rosenior shared his thoughts on the defeat after the match. He told reporters, “It was the most disappointing night so far. In terms of what we had talked about, not gifting goals, taking control of the game, we didn’t achieve it.

In my opinion, we got into the final third a lot. We had a nervous start, and then we managed to control the game, but we weren’t precise enough. Out of nowhere, they score, and it’s not the first time that’s happened. We came out in the second half; we had control of the game, we made a mistake, and we went 2-0 down.

“For me, it’s not a lack of effort or confidence in the team. When you’re on a losing streak like ours, those things are held against you, but I don’t think that’s the issue right now.

“I think throughout the season, if you look at the statistics I have in front of me. I don’t want to make excuses: that wasn’t enough; the last week hasn’t been enough. That’s why the international break has come at a good time for us, maybe some players can reset, be in a different environment, and then come back.”

Rosenior has won only 10 of the 19 matches he has managed since replacing Enzo Maresca on the Chelsea bench, and four of those wins have come in cup competitions.

Chelsea has beaten Wrexham, Hull, and Charlton in the FA Cup and Pafos in the Champions League group stage. The Blues will now enjoy a respite thanks to the international break, and Rosenior has admitted it may have come at a good time for his struggling team.

He said, “It’s a disappointing time for the club right now. It hurts to lose football games. We’re one point away from a Champions League spot. Hopefully, this break comes at a good time for us.”

Rosenior will have much to think about during the international break and will face crucial matches when domestic competition resumes. Chelsea returns to action with an FA Cup quarterfinal against Port Vale and will then face Manchester City and Manchester United in the Premier League.
