Rosenior has committed to trying to "get to the bottom" of Chelsea's disciplinary problems quickly, as he tries to lead the club to Champions League qualification. "We have to do something, without a doubt.
I have to talk to the coaching staff, the club staff, and the players, because this is unacceptable," Rosenior told reporters. "Especially in the last two matches, we have created our own problems, even here against a very good team.
You can see that there are many good things in our game. There are many good things technically, tactically, in the quality of our game. But if we don't eradicate this, it will be what costs us."
The manager was quick to point out that the problem is not something that can be solved simply by fining players. He added: "You can fine players. It's not about the punishment. It's about finding the reason. I don't think Pedro Neto today or Wes Fofana last week were thinking at that moment that, if they got a red card, they were going to be fined.
It's a matter of focus and concentration that we have to correct. I know the club's record hasn't been very good since the start of the season, and now it's getting worse. When I was here, we had ten games where we didn't have these problems, but we've had two in two games. There's something deeper that we have to thoroughly investigate."
The club captain, Reece James, also highlighted the seriousness of the situation and acknowledged that the frequency of these incidents is hindering Chelsea's ability to compete at the highest level. James admitted that, although the team shows flashes of quality, the recurring nature of the red cards is a major obstacle.
He noted that the variety of players involved suggests a systemic problem rather than the fault of a single individual, which makes it difficult for the coaching staff to find a solution during training sessions.
Following Chelsea's 2-1 defeat against Arsenal, which has relegated them to sixth place with 45 points, the team will seek to return to winning ways when they visit Villa Park to face Aston Villa on Wednesday night.
