Real Madrid and other European giants, such as Paris Saint-Germain, have been asking about Moises Caicedo for some time. However, the Ecuadorian midfielder has a long contract with Chelsea. Nevertheless, to “tie” his future to the London club, he has a major demand.
Media close to Chelsea report that Moises Caicedo has communicated to the club that he believes he deserves a new contract with better financial terms. He currently earns a salary of €12 million per season.
However, Moises Caicedo wants to be on par with players like Declan Rice and Rodri, who are among the best in the world at his position but earn much higher salaries than the Ecuadorian. Hence, he is seeking a new deal.
Although interest from outside England is strong, it is not ruled out that Moises Caicedo will stay and renew with Chelsea. The London club would have no problem improving the terms for the Ecuadorian and extending his contract, which already has five years remaining.
Real Madrid and PSG have inquired about the conditions to sign Moises Caicedo. Therefore, his transfer fee would exceed €115 million. The Ecuadorian currently holds one of the highest market values, and should he want to leave, the London club will demand a high fee.
In the current season, Caicedo has consolidated his status as the fundamental pillar of Chelsea's midfield, playing 37 official matches to date. The Ecuadorian midfielder registers 24 appearances in the Premier League and 13 additional participations in cup tournaments and European competitions.
Caicedo has 2 goals and 5 assists, standing out for a passing accuracy of 91% and an average of 3.2 tackles per match over 2,745 minutes on the field. In disciplinary matters, the player has received seven yellow cards and one red card.
Currently, his market value stands at €110 million. This figure confirms his position as one of the most highly rated defensive midfielders in world football, maintaining a valuation that reflects the historic investment made by the London club and his status as an undisputed starter in the lineup led by the Blues' coaching staff.
