Suspended Chelsea star trains at a semi-pro club, showcasing his dedication amid a doping controversy and uncertain future.

Mykhailo Mudryk has surprisingly returned to training, but far from the glamorous surroundings of Cobham. The Ukrainian, who signed for the Blues in January 2023 for the modest sum of £89 million, has been seen maintaining his fitness at semi-professional side Uxbridge FC.

The 25-year-old shared images of his solo session with his 1.8 million followers on Instagram, drawing the attention of the football world as he continues his competitive exile from Stamford Bridge.

The video showed the winger training at the Southern League Premier South Division club's Honeycroft ground. In the clip, Mudryk could be seen feinting a shot past a yellow training dummy on an artificial surface before unleashing a trademark left-footed strike that rattled the post and ended up in the back of the net.

Although the choice of venue is unusual for a Premier League superstar, it is understood that the ground is about a 40-minute drive from his residence in the upscale Imperial Wharf area of Fulham.

Mudryk has not played any official matches for the Blues since a Europa Conference League fixture in November 2024. His nightmare began in December of that year, when he tested positive for meldonium, a substance banned by the World Anti-Doping Agency.

Following a formal charge by the Football Association in June 2025, the Ukrainian has been suspended from playing. He has consistently maintained his innocence throughout the process, although the legal proceedings have offered very little clarity on when a final verdict on his long-term eligibility will be reached.

Confirming the charge to his followers via social media last year, Mudryk expressed his shock at the situation. He said, "I can confirm that I have been notified that a sample I provided to the FA contained a banned substance.

This has come as a complete shock, as I have never knowingly used any banned substances or broken any rules, and I am working closely with my team to investigate how this could have happened.

I know I have done nothing wrong and remain hopeful that I will return to the pitch soon. I cannot say anything more now due to the confidentiality of the process, but I will as soon as I can."

Chelsea has undergone numerous changes in its squad and tactical direction since Mudryk last played, and it remains to be seen where he would fit in the team's hierarchy if his ban were lifted.

For now, attention remains focused on the legal battle his team of lawyers is fighting in the background. Until the FA delivers its final verdict, Mudryk will likely continue with his solo training sessions, hoping for a resolution that will allow him to resume his Premier League career.
