European Giants pursued Caicedo, but Chelsea's massive offer and refusal to negotiate solidified his Stamford Bridge future.

Moises Caicedo is among the best midfielders in the world and in the Premier League, and although his transfer would cost hundreds of millions, some clubs are keeping an eye on the future of the Ecuadorian midfielder.

The outlet TeamTalk indicates that Moises Caicedo was indeed in Real Madrid's plans for a transfer that would have exceeded €150 million. The same news outlet disclosed Chelsea's response.

The Blues flatly refused to let the Ecuadorian go and initiated a contract renewal offer with a much higher salary. This stance caused Madrid to back off, since with Kylian Mbappe's salary newly assumed, they could not sign another star salary.

The outlet points out that Chelsea also acknowledged interest in Argentine Enzo Fernandez, and the strategy is the same. Both players already have a renewal offer from the English club.

In the case of the Ecuador international, this is the second European giant to sound him out after Paris Saint-Germain in France. Moi has a current contract for five more years and would sign a five-year extension.

Currently, Moises Caicedo has a value of €90 million according to Transfermarkt. Therefore, if the Ecuadorian player is sold by Chelsea, it would be for a figure exceeding €150 million, since he is in the best moment of his career and is still 23 years old.

Caicedo has established himself as a fundamental piece for Chelsea in the 2025/26 season, accumulating a total of 34 matches played in which he has recorded five goals and one assist across all competitions.

In the Premier League, the Ecuadorian midfielder has played 21 matches, scoring three goals and maintaining a passing accuracy above 90 percent. His defensive numbers are also notable, with more than 130 ball recoveries and 131 duels won.

The club sees Caicedo as its engine and tactical heart due to his ability to transform collective performance; his absence on the field usually translates into a loss of control in midfield, as evidenced in matches where his entry as a substitute changed negative dynamics.

With a contract that runs through 2031, Chelsea sees in him a historic reference point capable of guiding the institution toward winning national and international titles in the current decade.
