Former Chelsea player Sinclair responded when asked if Fernandez could emulate a former fan favorite: "People talk about comparing players to Frank Lampard, with what he did at Chelsea. Personally, I don't think anyone will ever do that again. For me, he is the best goalscoring midfielder this country has had, and the stats back that up.
But I think Enzo's aim should be to hit double figures every season, especially when he plays a little bit higher up the pitch. He can get to the end of things, get into the box, and finish. He is cool in front of the goal.
I would like him to focus on his all-around game and dominating matches. I know he has Caicedo behind him, who has been incredible this season and does a lot of his dirty work in midfield. But I would like him to try to improve his all-round game, not just scoring goals.
Fernandez, who briefly played under Lampard following his £107 million move to Chelsea in January 2023 and the return of a club icon to the Stamford Bridge dugout, told Sky Sports he tries to follow in the footsteps of the most illustrious: "He is an inspiration. I have watched a lot of Frank's videos since I arrived at Chelsea. I have seen how he got into the final third of the pitch and into the box.
While he was our manager, I wasn't playing in that position; I was playing deeper, so I couldn't talk to him much about it. But I have been watching and learning from his videos since I arrived at the club.
He was an exceptional player and a legend here at Chelsea. I don't like being compared to him because he has achieved much more here than me. He is an idol. I hope to follow in his footsteps at Chelsea."

I thought last season he might have had some difficulties, but that was probably because Caicedo was finding his feet, getting comfortable with the ball at his feet. But this season, the relationship between the two is much stronger.
I think his aim should be to hit double figures every season. I would be very surprised if he became a midfielder who scores 20 goals. If he did that, it would mean Chelsea would probably be at the top of the league and be a real powerhouse again. So I would be very happy with that. But yeah, we will see how far he goes, but he is improving, and it's good to see."
