Hincapie shines as Arsenal triumphs over Chelsea. He celebrates reaching the final, leaving rival Caicedo to wait for silverware.

Arsenal eliminated Chelsea in a very exciting Carabao Cup semifinal, which was decided at the very end with a great goal from Kai Havertz. The match was also very important for Ecuador, due to the duel between the Ecuadorian national team players, Moises Caicedo and Piero Hincapie.

The central defender reached the final as an absolute star with Arsenal. Hincapie is a fixed starter now with the Gunners and is a complete option for Arteta. The Ecuadorian will play his first final with the Gunners and left a message on his social media showcasing this match.

"Here we go, Wembley," Hincapie wrote on his social media. The Ecuadorian player was the star for Arsenal in this semifinal, and the play that ended with Havertz's goal began with him. The Ecuadorian national team player will be the first Ecuadorian to play a final in Wembley Stadium with Arsenal's colors.

Moises Caicedo also played a very notable match; however, Rosenior's new system prevents him from playing a bit more advanced, and he was more focused on marking. The midfielder will have to continue waiting to win his first domestic title with Chelsea.

It was the second time the Ecuadorians faced each other this season, and there is at least one more match in the Premier League. Both clubs could still face each other in the FA Cup or also meet in the Champions League, where Arsenal qualified as the best group leader.

With the Arsenal jersey, Piero Hincapie already has 20 matches, having missed some due to injury; however, he has confirmed himself as a starter. The Ecuadorian has played 1,366 minutes. He has not scored goals or provided assists, but it seems this is very close.

Arsenal has not yet purchased Piero Hincapie, as the Ecuadorian is only on loan in North London. However, there is a purchase option in his contract, and it will likely be exercised at the end of the season or after the 2026 World Cup.
