Chelsea proposes a stunning swap: Enzo Fernandez for Real Madrid's Vinicius Jr. The Blues aim to leverage Madrid's midfield interest for their star forward.
Aware of the interest Enzo Fernandez arouses in a club of the stature of Real Madrid, Chelsea has ventured to propose to the white club the possibility of a swap for Brazilian Vinicius Junior.
In recent weeks, rumors linking Real Madrid with Enzo Fernandez, 25, have grown again. It seems the Whites consider him ideal to strengthen a midfield that has been somewhat weakened following the successive departures of German Toni Kroos and Croatian Luka Modric.
Within his current club, Chelsea, they are now fully aware of what is happening. In fact, the Blues aim to take advantage of this interest to promote a striking exchange. The London entity would be open to swapping the Argentine for Brazilian forward Vinicius Junior, 25.
"The reason is that the Argentine has a valuation of around $120-$130 million, a figure similar to what Vinicius Jr. could cost in August if he has not renewed his contract with Madrid," Spanish outlet Defensa Central explains.
Chelsea Proposes Enzo Fernandez-Vinicius Jr. Swap To Real Madrid
For now, in Madrid, they do not at all view such an operation favorably. First, because they continue working on the idea of extending the canarinho's contract. And second, because Fernandez is not currently the top priority. The player from San Martin has some interesting qualities, but he does not occupy the top spot on the sports management's preference list.
As for the players' stance, it is assumed that the former Benfica and River Plate player would be delighted to arrive at the Santiago Bernabeu. In contrast, following the departure of Xabi Alonso and the arrival of Alvaro Arbeloa, Vinicius Jr. now seems determined to remain linked to the Spanish capital's team.
Enzo Fernandez is completing a standout 2025/26 season with Chelsea, establishing himself as a leader and key piece in midfield. The 24-year-old has played over 50 games, standing out for his great offensive contribution with 15 goals and 11 assists (making him the team's 2nd player in combined goals and assists after Cole Palmer), in addition to being a fundamental piece in securing the Conference League title for the Blues.
Enzo Fernandez has proven to be one of Chelsea's most consistent figures this campaign, earning recognition for his direct influence on the scoreboard.
